A real life roadie—Tonight
It is time to get out of our comfortable seats on a Sunday evening. Danni Buick is spending the 1st week of the School holidays on a Youth Ministry road show which has it's finally at the Cathedral on 17 July 6:30pm. It would be really great if we could be there to support her and the other teenagers as they share of their experiences on the road.

Music Practice
Just confirming the music practice 7pm tonight. Yes Jim, 7pm (that’s 645pm) for you.  Caroline has just had her knee operation on Wed, but still wants to go ahead with it, but the earlier the better.  Could song leaders please bring a song to practice each. There won’t be powerpoint as Malcolm is away.  The sound people will be there also.  Special invite to David Strawbridge and Carole Rendle.  Bye for now.  Anne

Ruth and Samuel:  Following was received on the 20th of June,
"Micah Warnecke Oliveira arrived on April 4th after a speedy delivery, and is now occupying a lot more of my time than I´d expected. Check out his photo album on community.webshots.com/user/keruru. It's the last  albums. Don´t put www in front of the address or it won´t work.
I have resumed one of the children´s English classes. Micah comes with me.  I plan to resume the other two classes after the school holidays in July. That will mean quite a lot of juggling as far as caring for Micah goes. We are trying to decide whether it is better for Samuel to care for him, or for me to train up one of the teens and to pay her.

The Saturday kids´ club continues, but we have given up the idea of using the association building unfortunately.  As there were too many complications, lies, internal fighting , and both the water and electricity cut off because the bills haven´t been paid.  A real pity though, as the space is just what we needed. Please pray with us for a solution to this problem.
The good news is that one of Samuel´s seminary classmates, his wife, and a couple of his friends are interested in helping us,..not only with the kids´ club, but with other things as well.  At the moment they are visiting and looking at what we are doing and trying to decide what exactly it is that God would like them to get involved with.
Samuel has finally decided about the summer. While I am in NZ he will go to Porto Velho, which is about 3000km (50 hours by bus) to one of the Teen Missions bases where he will participate as one of the leaders. I have done it twice, but at the base in Belem (the mouth of the Amazon). "

Don't you just…!
There are many ways of entering into a conversation with God. On the Thursday 11 Aug 7pm at the Vicarage there will be a workshop discovering the exploring different ways of praying and leading prayer. Even if you don't lead prayer in the church why not come along and learn.

4WDers fundraise for the Richmond Family Support Trust.
There is a planned team trials event to be held on Sat 23rd of July at Top House. Teams will consist of 3 vehicles, with at least one member of the team on all terrain or road tyres. There will be stages to extend those who want to push their vehicles but the event will still caterfor the shineys.  There will be a cost of $15 per vehicle. There will alsobe a sausage sizzle, other nibbles and hot drinks available for a smallcharge.
Register teams with Tim on 5442738 (or he can help organise a team) by 16th of July if interested.
Anyone interested in helping with marshalling, or other task  would be appreciated.

That word again.
Several years ago I read a book and subsequently took a house group through a study on the word. It is a word which has great power to change us for the better not only as we explore it but also as we seek to be a dispenser of it. Several week ago Bishop Derek talked about the best word in the Bible and kept us all guessing until he finally revealed he was talking about Grace.

Beginning in August as a church and as individuals we are going to go on a fascinating journey of discovery as we probe what does the word mean for our relationship with God and with others. Over 6 weeks we will use Philip Yancey's book "What so amazing about grace" as the platform for our journey, reading it as individuals, Sunday sermons focusing on aspects of Grace and mid week discussion groups.

Several groups in the church have already explored this book/word and when asked would they consider doing it again so they would be in step with the rest of the church the
answer was a resounding yes. With one person saying "It is the most powerful and life challenging/empowering study I have ever done in 30 years of being a Christian".
The church is organising a bulk deal to buy the book so we will be asking for numbers needing the book soon.

Last year we had tremendous fun and learnt a lot with the 40 days of purpose. We invite you to join in with everyone else as we put 6 weeks aside to learn and grow as a body in our understanding of Gods grace and how we can be dispensers of that grace.
